I downloaded windows defender on windows xp home edition. I received the following error message: MSASCui.exe: Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. I uninstalled and reinstalled defender several times and I get the same message.

I can find no details on this code. update service is running. i've tried with norton antivirus running and turned off update still fails........
